Downloading a transmittal
To view a transmittal sheet, the contents of a transmittal package, or to view the template from which a transmittal sheet was generated, you must download it first. The transmittal must have already been generated as described in Creating a transmittal to perform these tasks.
Notes
- You cannot directly edit a transmittal sheet or transmittal package before sending them. Instead, you must edit the transmittal properties, document list, or transmittal sheet template and then regenerate the transmittal package.
- If you are a transmittal recipient, before you acknowledge receipt of the transmittal, you can only download the transmittal sheet. After you acknowledge receipt of the transmittal, you can download the transmittal package.
To download a transmittal sheet:
- Open the transmittal as described in Viewing and editing a transmittal.
- In the ribbon, in the Transmittal group, click Download sheet. The file downloads to your computer. Depending on your browser and its settings, you may be prompted for what you want to do with the file. Click Open to open the file in the application that is registered for the file type of the transmittal sheet. The content and layout of the transmittal sheet depend on the template that you chose when the transmittal was created and are designed by a system administrator.
To download a transmittal package:
- Open the transmittal as described in Viewing and editing a transmittal.
- In the ribbon, in the Transmittal group, click Download package. The file downloads to your computer. Depending on your browser and its settings, you may be prompted for what you want to do with the file. Click Open to open the file in the application that is registered for the file type of the transmittal package. The contents of a transmittal package are described in About transmittals.
To download a transmittal sheet template:
- Open the transmittal as described in Viewing and editing a transmittal.
- In the ribbon, in the Transmittal group, click Download sheet template. The file downloads to your computer. Depending on your browser and its settings, you may be prompted for what you want to do with the file. Click Open to open the file in the application that is registered for the file type of the transmittal sheet template. The content and layout of the template are designed by a system administrator.
